While a marinière striped top is a classic that shows few signs of waning popularity, stripes in a variety of formats seem poised for pattern dominance this spring. This article in The Wall Street Journal seconds my hunch. Multi-colored stripes, multi-directional stripes, mixed stripes, bold stripes, blurred stripes…anything goes and can be found on just about any article of clothing or accessory type.

I find stripes one of the easiest patterns to wear, and to mix with other patterns. Stripes can be elegant or playful, classic or edgy.

Do you have stripes in your wardrobe? How do you like to wear them?
