An Unusual yogini, that’s me, why? I probably won’t match your, or any stereotypical perception of what a yogi (ni) looks like or what a yogini does. Associations like, flexible, chanting, wearing hippie styled clothing, no chemical using, recluse, always meditation on a cushion in a cave, vegetarian & slim are far from what I do or look like. I am fat, don’t exercise much, so also don’t do yoga exercises, I don’t wear particular clothes, don’t sit on a cushion and meditate all day, am not a recluse, use chemicals if I must…don’t like being alone to much of the time and am not a vegetarian. So what makes a Yogini a yogini? In my understanding, in her true essence, a yogini is: A woman dedicated to the pursuit of spiritual knowledge and mystical insight, a Yogini, can come in many forms and can have many faces: from devotional to demure, and from fiery to fierce. And that’s exactly what I do; I am dedicated to the pursuit of spiritual knowledge and mystical insights. Yogini for life, unravelling the “I” as I apply myself as a buddhist, trying to be more congruent and less grasping to an “I” that has to be defended…And more recently sharing my experiences to inspire you to walk your own spiritual path!
