Yves Saint Laurent has a new lip formula, the Rouge Volupté Shine lipsticks which they introduce as: “Protection, comfort, wet-looking shine, homogeneous color that doesn’t smudge”. The intense shine, surprising pigmentation, hydration, and enduring quality on the lips is very impressive. Today I have Pink in Devotion to share with you, and I have got to confess it has got me swooning and lusting after more!

The new Rouge Volupté Shine lipsticks have a beautiful color range, offering nineteen shades, from soft nudes to a red, deep plum, bright fuchsia, with soft peaches and pinks in between it all. I purchased 6 Pink in Devotion in an attempt to break my recent habit of only purchasing lipsticks that are peach or coral in color. (Corail in Touch was trying so hard get my attention!) Pink in Devotion is the shade the YSL model is wearing in the display for this lipstick. The model and the lipstick are both stunning!
YSL states their Rouge Volupte Shiné has pomegranate and rice extracts which combat free radicals. Emollients make the lips soft and smooth, and hyaluronic acid “microspheres” seals in moisture and prevents lips from drying out. The intense shiny color is the result of candelilla wax and silicon oils which enhances the color.
Application, Pigmentation, Finish. The application of this lipstick is very smooth. It glides on easily and has surprising pigmentation for how hydrating it is. I felt it gave my lips a nice smooth finish, did not settle into lines, and the shine is amazing.
Scent and Taste. This lipstick has a light mango scent and a slightly sweet taste. I find it light and pleasant.
Longevity. With a hydrating lipstick that does not have staining properties, I would imagine it would wear off quickly, but with the Rouge Volupté Shine I found the color and shine to stay solid on my lips for 3.5 hours then began slowly and evenly fading. I experienced a very hydrating feeling on my lips the entire time I wore this lipstick.
Overall I am very impressed with the Rouge Volupté Shine lipstick. The feeling is similar to a hydrating balm, but with a punch of pigmentation like a lipstick and the sexy shine of a gloss. The combination of all three in this formula is brilliant.
