StitchFix: Fix #3

Hi everyone! Today I'm posting a review of my third StitchFix. For those of you who don't know about StitchFix, it's a clothing delivery service where you create an online style profile and then a StitchFix stylist selects items for you by reading your style notes and browsing your Pinterest style boards. Once your fix arrives, you have three days to try on your items and decide what you'll keep and what to send back. You pay only for the items you keep and there is a 25% discount if you decide to keep all five pieces. Note that this is not a discount service. The price points are usually between $40-$100, depending on the item.

This month, my fix was spot-on. Totally my style and things I would have selected on my own. In fact, it was so my style, that I already owned nearly identical versions of several of the items. It was a bummer to send things back, but at the same time, I felt good about the fact that my stylist really understands what types of items appeal to me and that bodes well for future fixes.

I did have a few sizing issues in this fix and I'll go into detail about that as I go over each item. The first item I was sent was this black and white striped v-neck top. It has a faux leather trim at the neckline and a slit in the back where the fabric overlaps. I loved this top, but given that I recently purchased a black and white microstripe top from Banana Republic, I couldn't justify adding a nearly identical piece to my closet.
The second item I received is a cobalt blue top with black lace trim. This top is definitely my style and I loved the feminine lace detailing at the neckline. I did send it back because I received a cobalt blue top with lace cap sleeves in my last fix (see it here) and since they're both the same color and similar in style, I once again couldn't justify it.
The third item I was sent is a classic black blazer, but this one was made of a soft, stretchy fabric. I liked the fit and style of the blazer but I already own several blazers, including a black one, so I didn't need to expand my collection.
I actually really loved these gray jeggings I received. They came in a size four and I could get them on, but they were just too tight. I probably would have kept them in the next size up (and that's what's listed in my profile so this may have been a mix-up). I don't own charcoal gray pants and they would have been a nice addition to my closet.
Finally, I was sent this absolutely stunning blue lace dress. It is just so beautiful and was the perfect length, too. I was even willing to overlook that I own a blue lace dress already (this one, from zara) because this one had a v-neck and long sleeves, so it felt different enough and perfect for cooler weather. As tough as it was, I decided to return it. It arrived in a size small and it just fit. It fit like a glove and I was worried that I wouldn't be comfortable in it. It does pull a little bit at the chest as you can see in these pictures. I was able to get it fully zipped, but I felt nervous that I wouldn't wear it as often because it's so fitted. I requested that they send me a medium in my next fix if it is still available because I love it so much.

Though I didn't keep any items from this fix, I've already scheduled my next one and I can't wait for it to arrive. I love opening up the box and seeing what my stylist picked out for me. I have barely been shopping for myself lately, so it was a fun treat to get this fix right before Christmas.
One thing I'm thrilled about is that my stylists are looking at my Pinterest boards and they really "get me" and know which items would appeal to me. Hopefully next time I'll get a few items in different colors (there was a lot of cobalt in my last fixes, which I love, but I would love more variety).
Do you use StitchFix? How was your last fix? Let me know in the comments!
