Blog Off… Chloe Sevigny in Chloé

Here’s the thing, Chloe Sevigny has always quite annoyed me with what she wears, but I can’t ever put my finger on it as to why. I think it might be because whatever she does chose, never really… fits her that well. Or, for that matter, suits her colouring.

However on Wednesday night she might have just changed my opinion on her sartorial choices. Here she is, at Barneys New York, in celebration of Chloé’s, the label, 60th anniversary, in a Chloé violin dress that is one of the 16 iconic archive pieces the House has reissued in honour of their 60th year.

And I don’t mind it!

Here’s what some other online peeps thought of it…

***Gurd from Stylecupid.com*** “There’s quirky girls. There’s kooky ladies. And then there’s the unashamed queen of the avant-garde Chloe Sevigny. What I love about her is that she genuinely doesn’t care what people think. On the one hand she looks incredible – those cut outs are so alluringly chic paired with the minimal heels. On the other, she’s wearing a bloody violin! But ultimately it’s her sartorial braveness that makes her an undeniable style inspiration” ***Laetitia from Mademoisellerobot.com*** “I love Chloe, I really do. She always picks the weirdest stuff and totally pulls it off. A violin dress? Why the hell not? Throw in some cut outs and some lamé while you are at it. No sad violin this time” ***Isa from Where Did You Buy That*** “Hmmmm can’t say I’m feeling this look. It’s trying to be too many things at the same time with the oblique cut out, the gold violin panel and the high neck. Way too busy! I can see it working better on the catwalk than in real life and would have liked it better without the cut out and a few inches shorter. Love the shoes though” ***And moi…*** “Ordinarily I would have agreed wholeheartedly with Isa, not a fan of the cut out, but I have to say I actually do really like this on Chloe. She likes an usual cut, and here it is, in violin form! The length is amazing on her, and those capped sleeves are gawwwwgus. And yes, the shoes are YUM too!”
