Winter Warmer - Malin & Goetz Dark Rum Candle

Brrrr! The weather in blighty (that's England to my international readers) has taken a sharp turn for the worse over the past 48 hours, winter is most definitely almost here.

Some of the best things about the colder weather are cozy thick socks, snuggling up to someone special, sipping hot chocolate and playing with lovely smelling candles!

This evening I'll be burning Malin & Goatz's Dark Rum candle . Its spicy, seductive hues are just what I need to make me forget about that icy weather outside as I cosy up in front of the TV to watch the addictive crap that is X-Factor. Malin & Goetz are a New York based skincare company who also stock a range of tempting candle scents amongst their many products.

Dark Rum creates an inviting ambience and has rich top notes of bergamot and plum, middle notes of rum and leather and base notes of amber-patchouli and vanilla. It has a perfect balance of sweetness. combined with the heady scent of rum. I was worried I'd find this too overpowering, but it has an enticing smoky blend of rum and smoky leather when lit and makes a lovely addition to any home.

The candle has approximately 60 hours burn time, although it's recommended that you don't burn it longer than three hours - and I see why. The scent could be smelt all over the house, which was fine, as I liked the smell and was proof of its quality. It's not cheap, priced £37, but hey Christmas is around the corner...
