There is no place like NYC in the summer time. I’m usually a home body if I am not doing anything professionally, but this summer I am making more of an effort to really take in and rediscover my city. I am a true New Yorker at heart and it’s not just because I’ve lived here since I was a little child. I find that regardless of the different places that I visit there is definitely no place like home; but because I have lived here since I was a child, I think that I have become a bit jaded to the awesomeness of the city. There literally is something going on somewhere 24 hours a day in this city. The great thing is that because the cost of living is so high, the city tries to compensate by offering a great value for your entertainment dollar. From free plays in the park, to low cost shows and dining depending on the day of the week and where you look, to museums and free concerts, NYC is definitely popping in the summer!
Hubby & I decided to hang out with a few friends and just take in the city. We didn’t have any specific plans besides just letting the city direct us and it was great! We saw a free comedy show, grabbed a few bites to eat, and rediscovered some places in this fabulous city that I have completely forgotten about. If you are a home body in your city, don’t let the summer pass you by without rediscovering something awesome about your city. Take it in, be a tourist for the day, you may be surprised with all that your city has to offer
