Kate’s Royal Beauty Bag : Urban Decay Naked Eye Palette

We have been covering the many beauty products Kate uses (or has been rumoured to use) for years here on WWKD through our Royal Beauty Bag series. Even after the incredibly time consuming job (someone’s got to do it!) of having tested and reviewed all of the products Kate uses, we still get excited when a new product is rumoured to be one that Kate uses. We all want that Princess glow!

This week, reports came out that Kate’s perfectly shadowed eyes come courtesy the Urban Decay Naked Eye Palette. I couldn’t have been more excited that Kate is reported to use this product because, well, it’s one of my favourites too!

The Urban Decay Naked Palette has been around for several years and has made a huge impact on how people view and wear neutral eye colors. Urban Decay would not have been one of my choices for the perfect nude before I tested this palette – I’d have gone with Kate’s other favourite makeup brands of Laura Mercier or Bobbi Brown – but with 6.6 palettes sold every hour around the world (and that was before any mention of the Kate effect!) the Urban Decay Naked Palette has earned the title of the world’s best selling eye makeup palette of all-time. The palette comes with 12 neutral hued eye shadows and a dual-end brush to ensure proper application, something that undoubtedly Kate is more than competent in doing as she famously applied her own makeup for the 2011 Royal Wedding.

I can not more strongly recommend this palette for you to try. While it may sound a little pricy ($54 USD for the palette), you can also try just what Urban Decay calls the “basics” for $29. But think of it this way – a small investment in your Duchess-worthy makeup repertoire! Kate has even been kind enough to us to show us exactly where she applies the individual colours.
