In the warmer months, we often see Kate donning a pair of sunnies. Not only are they adorable, but they protect your eyes from sun damage and unsightly squinting lines. They also add a bit of oh-so-glamorous allure and allow us to check out a cute guy’s bum without getting caught.
During the summer months, sunglasses are one of the best accessories. Aside from the obvious sun protection, they can be used as an impromptu headband when the humidity strikes, a cover-up for running mascara at the pool (hey – we have all done it), and a stylish accessory that takes a t-shirt from regular to Royal.
The Duchess of Cambridge has stuck to two classic styles of sunglasses – an oversized “squoval” pair by Givenchy and classic Ray Ban wayfarers. We have seen Kate choose these styles at the polo fields with George, at Wimbledon with Wills, and on an event by herself.
Kate has worn these Givenchy sunglasses, which Pippa also owns, for quite a few years now. The classic oversize “squoval” style is very fashionable yet classic. The Duchess of Cambridge has worn them during official royal tours, to Wimbledon, and even in the car ride from KP to Bucklebury the day after George was born!
The Duchess of Cambridge has at least one (and possible a second in a different color) pairs of the classic Ray Ban wayfarer in a modern folding style. They were first spotted during the Royal Tour of Australia and New Zealand and have been worn a few times since. Wayfarers are very trendy, fun, and incredibly flattering on many face shapes.
