This is the year I’ll be making the rounds on the baby shower circuit. Here’s a closer look at a few popular party games, whether you’re also attending a shower or looking to host one.
- Customize a onesie with permanent markers.
- Get in the celeb game! Have your guests match a celeb baby’s name (always so unique) with their famous parents.
- Give everyone a list of animals and see if they can name the corresponding baby animal.
- Collect baby pictures of all the guests in advance, and have attendees match the baby to the adult.
- Have guests write down as many songs with the word “baby” in the title as they can within five minutes.
- See how well your guests know the mother-to-be! Ask her family questions about her as a child, then pose the questions to all guests and see who can get the most correct answers.
- Give each guest a piece of paper with the alphabet on it and have them write down a word for each letter that is associated with babies/pregnancy/parenting, etc.. Whoever writes the most words in one minute is the winner.
- Are there any future Picassos disguised as guests? Arm each attendee with a sheet of paper and a crayon or pen. Have them all close their eyes and try to draw a baby. The mom-to-be picks her favorite.
- Put 14 unpaired socks on the floor, and have each guest match as many socks as they can in one minute.
- Baby bucket list. Ask guests to write down one thing to do with the baby in their first year. Maybe it’s something they did with their own child, or their parents did with them, or perhaps it’s family advice they’re passing along. A sentimental and fun idea!
