5 Blessings I received from #BloggyCon14

I just returned from Bloggy Conference 2014. The amount of blessings I received from #BloggyCon14 cannot possibly be summed up in one post, but I am going to share a few with you. This was an amazing experience because I went to the inaugural conference, am considered an “alumna” of the conference, was a speaker at the second one and give this conference a lot of credit for my blog ever having succeeded in any way at all. Tiffany Noth, from BloggyMoms.com, puts a lot of energy and brain power into this conference. I appreciate all of the effort she puts in to attract great speakers so that I learn a lot more and develop the skills I need. She also makes sure that the conference is affordable and understands the life of a blogger. The brands that come to the conference are excited to work with people like us who want to promote products that are great for improving the lives of families. It is also great to meet up with other bloggers I’ve met previously and to meet new bloggers. The supportive atmosphere fosters community and creates an opportunity to find other like-minded people who are interested in collaboration.

Here is my list of 5 Blessings I received from #BloggyCon14:

God is awesome.

Blessing #1: Being able to go at all

I am on a very, very tight budget. Very. So even the idea that I could go was literally a miracle. I had not planned to go but when a group of bloggers started a Twitter conversation about having a reunion, I couldn’t resist at looking into whether or not I could find a way to go.

Friends I hope to see at #BlogyyCon this year @WomanlyWoman @4thfrog @nuckingfutsmama @thedomesticexec @judydaniell #FF

I first posted on Facebook about trying to get a ticket. Crowdsourcing your Facebook wall for advice is always the way to go.

I didn’t realize how low the price was and thought they were sold out. It turns out there were a few tickets still available on the site and I had just enough money to purchase one. The ticket to go cost me less than a Bengals Women’s Blown Cover Halter Top so I decided to go ahead and get it.

Then I posted in the Bloggy Conference Facebook group that in order for me to actually go I would need a ride up there and a place to stay in the conference hotel. Almost immediately I had a response from Janet and Merri. You have no idea how grateful I was to be able to ride share up there because my old Ford car isn’t always the most reliable. I was also grateful to not only be able to share the cost of a room but to also have fellowship. I fully believe that God placed these specific women in my path for a reason. The fact that we share a faith in Jesus Christ was very comforting to me. I also got to meet Janet’s daughter and friend who joined us on the trip so that they could experience Cedar Point.

Blessing #2: Witnessing God’s Lake Erie Creation

Wow! I literally could not believe that I was in the same state. Ohio really is a beautiful place and probably overlooked by many people who do not live in this state. It blows my mind that I have lived my entire life without seeing this Great Lake from the shores of my own state. No joke, I’ve never seen Lake Erie from this standpoint. I’ve been to Cedar Point before but we just drove straight in, went on rides, and left. I didn’t even step onto the beach. So this was a great experience.

Blessing #3: Meeting friends IRL

Part of being a blogger in interacting with people online that you have never met in person. Meeting someone for the first time in real life that you have been friends with for years literally just blows your mind. It is crazy to see this person standing in front of you that you already know so well, but now have the opportunity to hang out with in person. Ashley and I had such a good time showing Blogger Love to each other in person.

It was also fun for me to introduce old friends to newer friends.

And to see people from my own city even though we drove such a long distance to hang out.

And, of course, just meeting new people in general.

Blessing #4: Learning Stuff

I almost forgot to mention this. I learned a bunch of stuff. But you’ll have to contact the speakers and buy their book(s) to learn about it yourself. Or come to Bloggy Conference 2015 at Cedar Point!

Blessing #5: Witnessing family life and being part of it

This conference has a lot of bloggers with families. I love how before, during and after the conference you get to see how families have enjoyed their time and support each other! As a single woman with no kids, I appreciate being able to see this and may need to write a letter to my future husband about how he’ll need to join me at this conference in the future.

Blessing #5: Tiffany from Bloggy Conference Photobombed Me!

I know that Tiffany isn’t the type to want to pose for a bunch of photos and although she would probably be glad to pose for one with me, I decided to not bother her while she was wrapping up the conference and pretend that she photobombed me.

No way! Tiffany from @bloggycon just photobombed me. pic.twitter.com/5f54R03Por

@WomanlyWoman lol! You are too funny! #bloggycon14
