Thirty-Five Weeks

Five weeks left people. I can't wrap my head around that. I had a midwife appointment yesterday afternoon and for the first time realized "oh. this guy could come early and we're not exactly ready for that." All this time, I've been preparing myself for him to come late, around 41 weeks, because I know that's completely normal, I haven't had any complications throughout this entire pregnancy, and I know I'll be sad/impatient to see my due date come and go. Anticipating a later delivery seemed to make the most sense to me.

But I guess it just hit me that I still need to be prepared for an early one, too. As in, really any time from now until the middle of January? Pretty much.

So, this weekend I'm planning to put everything back in order in our apartment (it's all still in disarray from our adventure in fumigating last week), pack a bag for the birth center, prep his diapers and wash all of our newborn and 0-3 month clothes, blankets, etc., and make any final purchases.

You know. Baby prep.

BECAUSE WE ARE HAVING A BABY. When is that going to sink in?

WEEKLY STATS

How far along?
35
Total weight gain: 32 pounds
Stretch marks? Still nothing. But I still have 4-6 weeks to go!
Sleep Habits: It's getting harder for me to initially fall asleep, but once I'm out I'm sleeping through the night or only waking up once to use the bathroom.. so I'd say it's still pretty good. But UGH rolling over is another story.
Best moment(s) this week: I'm actually not sure. I guess deep cleaning our kitchen and carpets.. because now it feels really nice in our front room. But it was a lot of work. And also the worst moment of the past week.
Worst moment(s) this week: Fumigating. And then learning that it may not have even worked.
Miss anything? You know, right now I don't. Except maybe sleeping on my stomach and wearing normal clothes. But, I've given into yoga pants and leggings for the remainder of the pregnancy and so that's not even so bad.. I don't know why I've been forcing jeans for so long (they really aren't that comfortable).
Movement: Yep, little guy is still moving around like a crazy person.
Food cravings: Nothing.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: Nothing yet!
New symptoms this week: No new symptoms. Still no braxton hicks (that I can tell), I may be having some minimal swelling but I'm not sure. My skin has been super dry but maybe that's just because it's getting colder? I don't know what is or isn't pregnancy related anymore.
Belly Button in or out? It's pretty flat. Pretty stretched.
Happy or Moody most of the time: When I don't dwell on everything I need to do before I'm off work on maternity leave, and all the issues we're having at our apartment, I'm generally happy :) But when those things get the best of me, I get overwhelmed and have to admit I've cried a few times this past week. It's all part of the process, I suppose.
Looking forward to: This roach issue being behind us, whether that means we are moving or we have to do another round of fumigation, or what. I just want it to be done so I can get things in order for this guy to make his appearance.
