Where do our knits come from ?

For now 10 years, we at Oeuf have partnered with indigenous women in self-managed communities to create our unique handcrafted winter collection.

In line with Fair Trade principles, our knitters are paid a living wage which enables them to afford healthcare and education for their children. Their partnership with Oeuf has made a

significant impact on their lives and their cultural traditions are respected, encouraged and honored.

Our knits are made of Baby Alpaca, which is the most rare and finest classification of Alpaca fiber. Alpacas are small, gentle animals raised for their soft, luxurious natural fiber. Alpaca is lanolin free, making it a hypoallergenic fiber, and is a renewable resource.

Alpaca are native to the high Andes Mountains of South America. Domesticated for centuries by the Inca of Peru, their precious fleece was worn only by royalty.

The Alpaca are raised in a stress-free natural setting environment that is grown without herbicides, no pesticides bath nor chemical dyes have been used during the processing.

Behind every Oeuf knit is a woman. For 10 years, we have partnered with indigenous women from Bolivia in self-managed communities to create a unique handcrafted winter collection. Our working together has made a significant impact on our lives and theirs. We are proud to encourage, honor and respect their cultural traditions. Each piece is fair trade for the benefit of all of us.
