How to get Samsung Digital Wellbeing and Bixby Routines on any rooted One UI phone
A few days back, Samsung announced the Galaxy S10 family. The Galaxy S10 will be one of the most important flagship smartphones of the year. Along with new hardware features like the ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner, the Galaxy S10 came with some new software features like Bixby Routines and Samsung’s own version of Digital Wellbeing. Thanks to RydahTheMod from the SamCentral Discord server, we got the APKs that enable the new feature. However, you can’t simply sideload these APKs on any Samsung device due to restrictions in One UI. Thanks to developer Skittles from the Lawnchair team for making a Magisk module that will let any rooted Samsung device running One UI—Exynos Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 , Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S9/S9 , and Galaxy Note 9—try out some of the Galaxy S10’s new software features right now.
Samsung’s new Bixby Routines are just a re-named version of their Routines app that was released with Good Lock 2018. Many users were disappointed when Samsung didn’t bring this app to One UI. Samsung had other plans and decided to re-brand it to Bixby Routines. The feature works similarly to IFTTT or Tasker. It doesn’t have as much integration as those apps, but it’s great as a built-in stock feature.
Samsung’s Digital Wellbeing looks almost exactly like Google’s Digital Wellbeing offering and even has the same name, but it’s just made by Samsung instead. If you don’t want to use a third-party app for Wellbeing features, then you can get the feature now with the Module below.
Install Digital Wellbeing and Bixby Routines on any rooted Samsung phone running One UI
- Download the S10Stuff Magisk Module from AndroidFileHost. All this Module does is push the Galaxy S10’s Wellbeing and Routines APK to /system/priv-app.
- Open Magisk Manager and install the module.
- Reboot your phone.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 isn’t even available yet and we are already bringing some of its features to older Galaxy phones. Speaking of which, you can grab its wallpapers right here.
