Silje Aune Eriksen’s Home in Norway.

Good morning and welcome to a brand new week. Today I would like to share a lovely home of Silje Aune Eriksen, Norwegian ceramic designer, which was recently featured in Elle Decoration. So please – do kick of your shoes, take a seat and make yourselves comfortable. In fact, I don’t know about you but I feel perfectly comfortable just looking at these images – no need to sit down even.I find Silje’s home so lovely, honest and full of personality. No doubt, this interior’s been blessed with an enviable bone structure which has been beautifully accentuated with a delicate colour palette offset with graphic patterns and bright accents (man – either Silje or the stylist are displaying a hard-core commitment to fluoro pink, red and orange accents, right? The tonal balance and consistence is killing me!) I also really love the way the furniture selections clean-up the whole look and make the interior a bit more polished and “architectural” (that’s so not the right way to describe it, but I just can’t think of a better word at the moment! Preggers brain strikes again…)I spy an Ikea lamp by Front next to the TV, which talks to countless examples of Silje’s beautiful ceramic work displayed throughout the house; the textural Artecnica Grand Trianon paper pendant hanging over the dining table, perfectly balancing the magnificent “Air” paper vases by Torafu Architects on the table and in the background; the iconic 1950′s Acapulco chair in the living room next to the Don’t Leave Me side table from Hay (the best name for a table – don’t you think?) and Scholten & Baijings pom-pom rugs also for Hay with those annoyingly perfect accents of pink again; Tom Dixon‘s Offcut Stool which lights up the entire kitchen; Konstantin Grcic‘s Chair One for Magis in the home office, which makes the Ikea work table appear a bit more special (btw, 10 points if you can correctly pronounce Konstantin’s surname – ha!)Anyway, enough with the product knowledge lesson. What I’m really trying to say is that I just really love the feel of this place. Do you? (Discovered via madame herve. Images via this is... - Styling by Kirsten Visdal/ Photos by Trine Thorsen.)
