Lies, all lies ...

"I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened." -Obi-Wan Kenobi senses Alderaan's destruction.

In case you've been spared the widespread internet panic, Google Reader (and I believe GFC by proxy) is going away on Monday, July 1st.

The good news is, if you're a Google Reader user, there are great alternate options - my favorite being Bloglovin' which has a handy Google Reader to Bloglovin' import tool here. The entire process takes about 3 clicks and just a few seconds, and you're able to follow all your favorite blogs in easy to read/sort/categorize format.

Along with the disappearance of google reader, I'll also be shutting down my blog-specific Facebook page in a few days. I'd love it if you would stay connected via Bloglovin, Instagram or Pinterest!

And speaking of Pinterest (getting to where the title of this post becomes relevant), as an avid Pinterest user, the following article caught my eye as it was making the Facebook rounds a few days ago:

I have seen most of these ideas and pinned many of them, but what hurts the most is that I actually went out and bought the supplies to attempt #17 and #20. Shaving cream and Listerine make your feet baby smooth? For sparkly clean toilets all I have to do is drop in a Magic Eraser?

How dare you, Pinterest.

While having a little extra Listerine and a few Magic Erasers on hand is certainly no tragedy, it has made me wary of what I pin, and more apt to do some investigation on my own before I pass things on.

How about you? Have you had any epic, failed Pinterest experiments or found out that you've uncovered an internet DIY untruth?

I leave you with the Pinterest-inspired "witch's finger cookies" that I attempted for our After Halloween Halloween Party last year. These understandably did not make the blog at the time.
